The SiGMA Americas Conference witnessed a pivotal gathering of sector leaders and proponents of Brazilian gaming. Eman Pulis, the visionary behind SiGMA Group, met with Plinio Lemos Jorge, head of the National Association of Gaming Lotteries (ANJL), and delegates from Brazil’s União Brasil political party. This significant assembly indicates a burgeoning desire to establish a regulated gaming structure within Brazil.

Pulis, optimistic about the prospects of gaming in the Americas, particularly Brazil, highlighted SiGMA’s dedication to not only organizing events but also cultivating a comprehensive understanding of regulated digital gaming. Jorge shared this perspective, expressing appreciation for the chance to examine the present condition of the sports wagering and internet gaming market, especially considering the critical crossroads Brazil faces as it molds the industry’s trajectory.

The event’s magnitude genuinely astonished both myself and my companions. It’s evident that [Country Name] possesses a market overflowing with possibilities.”

Mr. Pulis proposed our involvement in upcoming SiGMA conferences, encompassing those held globally. These gatherings will undoubtedly furnish invaluable avenues to convey our perspective for Brazil’s gaming sphere to crucial stakeholders internationally.

Regarding guidance, I wish to acknowledge Lemos Jorge, an esteemed attorney and former magistrate who recently assumed the role of ANJL President from Wesley Cardia. Mr. Cardia’s year-long tenure has concluded, leaving behind a noteworthy impact. Mr. Jorge brings a multifaceted skillset to his new position as ANJL President. His focus on attentive listening, cooperation, and openness mirrors his dedication to effectively advocating for and protecting the interests of ANJL constituents.

For those unacquainted, Mr. Jorge is a partner at Lemos Jorge Advogados Associados and possesses a Master’s degree in Tax Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP). He is also pursuing a PhD in Commercial Law and previously served as a Judge at the São Paulo State Court of Taxes and Fees.

Lastly, a brief observation on the political realm. The Brazil Union party, a significant entity in Brazilian politics, upholds liberal-conservative values. Established in 2021 through the amalgamation of the Democrats (DEM) and the Social Liberal Party (PSL), it swiftly ascended to become Brazil’s largest party. This consolidation received formal acknowledgment from the Superior Electoral Court on February 8, 2022.
